Dozens of small mammals and reptiles, including an endangered red panda, were recovered by customs agents in an airport in Bangkok, Thailand last week, in luggage that was bound for India. Six people were arrested for smuggling as a result. Unfortunately, illegal animal trafficking is a common issue in the country.

In late January, bullfighting resumed in Mexico City, Mexico, after the nation’s highest court ruled against a local ruling prohibiting the practice. Hundreds of activists protested outside the Plaza México, the largest bullfighting arena in the world. While bullfighting is still allowed in most of Mexico, it’s a highly controversial practice.
